intermediate championship 2002
Killanena 1-8 Smith o briens
1-11
well, what can you do. we simply lost because we
were missing too many top players.
we gave it everything, but in the end, it just wasn't
going to be our day. after the match, martin smith stepped down. on a good note,
at least we had a bit of a run, and not just the single game like many a year.
bring on next year. oh yeah, alan mc played outstanding. (i could make a profit
out of this scheme) oh yeah, at least we won the scrap at the end

Killanena 2-14 kilmaley 0- 12
well, about time, but in all fairness this is a junior a team we
were playing.
Started off very jittery, they missed a lot of very scorable
scores, but we took our scores with scraps of possession, which
is a good sign.
Kilmaley then took control of the game and levelled up matters
before half time.
The second half started off with tit for tat, but gradually
killanena took control of the game. The game was killed off when
kilmaley missed their 2nd penalty. In general, the team played
well, but it was only in the last 15 mins we won the game. Backs
played well, especially the inspirational enda Collins ( a pint, enda)
But the celebrations were marred with the injury of the luckless
mike mc, who will be a big blow.
So bring on o brines in the play off.
only getting serious now.
